  1. Abbey Road is my favorite Beatles album. When it came out, conspiracy theorists scoured the cover and scrutinized the tracks for "proof" that Paul McCartney was dead.

    As for the White Album... in order to really understand where Revolution #9 came from, you have to go back to Magical Mystery Tour. It was their most psychedelic album up to that point, including the tape loops played backward and forward, the Mellotron intro on Strawberry Fields, and a myriad of revolutionary instrumental and studio tricks. (You can also decide for yourself whether the voice sample at the end of "I Am the Walrus" says "I'm very bored" or "I buried Paul.")
